Oh Sammy!

Sammy turned six months old the other day, and today (better late then never) he rolled over. Yeah!!! He's on his way to becoming mobile. He's such a cute little stinker.
He starts off his day very smiley and happy. As the day goes on he becomes less so. Until about 5:00-6:00 he's finally done. Pretty much like the rest of us, I suppose. But you can still usually squeeze out a few smiles especially at bath time. He loves his bath. Sometimes I feel lazy and I don't really want to do the whole bath thing, but I know it's the highlight of his day, so I do it happily.
Sammy really loves his brothers and sisters. He lights up when they walk into the room. It's the cutest thing. Jonas is just fun to watch... he's always doing something entertaining, so Sam finds him very funny. Katie takes care of Sam's needs and if everyone leaves the room and the baby's by himself she'll always keep him company. Usually I'll hear a yell from another room,"Can you come get Sammy?" I have to tell her he's o.k. and she doesn't
have to stay in there with him. She also likes to get him up when he wakes up from his naps and carry him around. She's like a little momma only sometimes she has better things to do. (Unlike real mommas, ha ha). Kyler is definately the big brother. He feeds the baby, plays with him, and today he even put him down for a nap. Sooo helpful. I can always count on Ky when nobody else wants to help. These kids just love Sam so much. It's so cute.
Sam also has a newfound enjoyment of cats. (To my dismay, it's the whole cat hair thing, it kind of grosses me out.) I say where's the kitty meow meow and he looks for them and I swear he's trying to say meow, but it sounds more like a really long growly grunt, which I find amusing. Actually, I find most things Sam does pretty amusing. It must be the 4th kid thing, where you know they won't be little forever so you find the littlest things funny. Even when he's trying to stay awake when he's so tired and crying and whining, I think that's kind of funny. I used to be all stressed about my kids not wanting to sleep and everyone elses babies always sleeping through the night and in their cribs, but now I think... who cares. They eventually will sleep just fine. (Of course it could take a couple of years but what the hell, I've got the time.)
