Whoah

Sometimes you gotta wonder how come everything always happens all at once. I don't just mean bad things but all things. It seems like last week I didn't have anything worth talking about, and this week is all sorts of crazy. I guess that's what happens when you try to leave the house.

Well today Myke found out he broke two ribs. Ouch!!! He went up to Washington for work last week and on Wednesday night they all went out to dinner. So they all had a beer or two and decided to go outside and smoke while they were waiting for their dinner. Myke was leaning up against a brick wall, took a step away, went to lean back, missed it, tripped over his foot and fell on a parking stall curb.(In front of people, which I personally always find things like that hilarious.) When he went to the doctor today he told him that the funny thing is, he wasn't even drunk. The doctor thought that was pretty funny because when people get hurt like that he asks them if there was alcohol involved and they say of course I wouldn't have done that otherwise. Poor Myke, never even has a good excuse when he gets hurt. He always ends up getting more hurt when he hasn't had too much to drink. I would post a picture but he pretty much looks the same only he has that I'm hurt look to him. We all know the look. Ha Ha

In other happier news, Kyler finally decided to get a haircut. I can now see his beautifal blue eyes. Yeah!!! We decided to let him do what he wants with his hair. (The pick your battles approach.) As long as he is happy. But when he finally cut his hair he seemed so much happier. He thinks it's cool that it doesn't hurt to comb his hair and spend so much time washing it. I say you might as well take advantage of being a boy and have short hair.

Sammy cut his first tooth today. No wonder he's been such a grumpy butt. I just checked his mouth two days ago and there was nothing. He didn't even have those little slits where the teeth come in and today (TahDah) there it is. Sam had his six month appointment last week and he weighed a whoppin 19lbs 6oz. That kid's a biggen. He's a lug to carry around. Katie's a little trooper though, she seems to carry him around a lot more than I do.

Jonas taught himself how to ride a bike today, it was so cute. He borrowed Faith's little girl bike and tried and tried all evening until he finally did it. He didn't even care that the bike is all pink and girly. That boy has some serious stamina, I just love that in him. The other day he informed me he NEEDED a bike. He was the only kid in the neighborhood that didn't have one or know how to ride one. It's funny because at the beginning of the summer he was perfectly content with his big wheel. So tomorrow morning that's the first thing on my agenda. I just can't wait for a reason like Christmas, it's just too far away. And he does NEED it.

The kids start school on Monday. I'm getting pretty excited for that. Kyler will be in 6th grade (which is way weird to me because I remeber being in 6th grade like it was yesterday.) Katie will be in 4th and my little Jonesy will be in 1st. He is so excited to eat school lunch. I have no idea why, the other kids inform him "it's not that good".

I decided to be a full blown dork and get braces. Yes, I know, I used to think it was funny when adults had braces but what the hell I changed my mind. So in the middle of August I'm gonna do it. I figure if my kids can live through it, I can too.
