Me...being a mom

I see my life as a mom in 4 phases:
Phase 1, one baby

~My son will get all my love and attention...check
~My son will only eat the best things...check
~My son will always wear the cutest clothes I can find...check
~My son will always wear shoes and socks from the time he is born...check
~My son will never have a binky past age 1...check
~My son will never play with noneducational toys...check
~My son will always live in a clean house...check

Phase 2, two babies

~My kids will get all my love and attention...check
~My kids will only eat the best things I can afford...check
~My kids will always have the cutest clothes I can find on sale...check
~My kids will always wear shoes and socks when I put them on...check
~My kids will never have a binky past age 4...check
~My kids will only play with educational toys unless someone else gives them something
way funner...check
~My kids will always live in a tidy house...check

Phase 3, two kids and one baby

~My kids will get all of my love and most of my attention...check
~My kids will eat anything fast, easy and somewhat nutritious...check
~My kids will always wear clothes...check
~My kids will always wear shoes when they are walking on sticky weeds...check
~My kids will always have a binky, until they lose them all...check
~My kids will only play with toys...check
~My kids will always live in a house that gets picked up once a day...check

Phase 4, 3 kids and one baby

~My kids will get all of my love...check
~My kids will eat food...check
~My kids will wear clothes if we go somewhere...check
~My kids will own shoes and socks...check
~My kids will always have a binky (and 20 on hand)...check
~My kids will only play with things that resemble a toy...check
~My kids will always live in a house...check

After 4 kids my views on being a mom have changed a lot! I used to have so many standards to live up to. I have since realized most of those things don't matter. My kids are happy and well rounded. They are great kids and I love being their mom.

Sleep... Finally!

Myke was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. The tests say that he quits breathing 129 times an hour (5 times is concerning) for at least 15 seconds at a time. Which means out of 3600 seconds in an hour he is only breathing for around 1660 of the seconds. Having youth on his side was his only hope. People die in their sleep from heart attacks and strokes caused by sleep apnea. Kind of crazy. This also explains his lack of energy, motivation, stamina and fun. It also explains his high blood pressure, hypertension and most of his other ailments. To get this taken care of is so exciting. It's been a long 4 weeks of tests, phone calls and worry.

To fix this problem he gets to wear this huge face mask hooked up to a machine every night (cpap=old man machine ha ha). He said it's like Darth Vader...I'm thinkin' Hannibal Lechter. I couldn't help but laugh when the nurse came over to show him how it worked and to fit it to him. Anyway, I'm super relieved he will not be dying in his sleep tonight.

I would post a picture, but that would probably be kind of rude he he.

February

Valentine's Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love the colors and it's just that much closer to spring. February has been a bit of a health challenge in our house. Sam and Kyler both got pneumonia. Sam got over it pretty fast but Ky seems to be holding on to it a little longer. Jonas has a horrible cough, but no pneumonia which is good. His sounds more like a croup cough, which makes sense for him, since he used to get it every year. Then Myke decided he was sick too. Myke has also been diagnosed with sleep apnea, so we are hoping to get that treated very soon. We're kind of just waiting on the doctors. I think I may have to involve myself tomorrow. This whole waiting around for answers doesn't work well for me. Other than all that, we are all looking forward to the spring and healthier times ha ha.

Silly Sammy

I gotta say... this kid says the funniest stuff and has been talking amazingly since around 18 months. I love it. I thought I should write down some random stuff he says now so I can remember later.

If you tell him to not do something he yells "I'n not, No I'n not"

I naughty, I sit on the step --- I good boy now, I get off the step.

Epitant (elephant)

Giggles (The Wiggles movies)

Gonas (Jonas)

I coming?

I yuv you mom (awww my favorite)

Elmo pooped ha ha ha ha

Soapie (Sophie) naughty

Soapie gots somesing

Soapie eating my binky (yes he still has a binky and the bottle to boot)

I'n going to pee on you (when I'm about to put him in the tub. I know, it's wierd, but funny)

I fauted (farted)

He also loves to sing the Hokey Pokey, and pretty much knows every Wiggles song. Even the wierd ones Shalom El Ehem (whatever that is) He growls when he's mad and rolls his eyes when he doesn't want to listen to you.
That's all I can remember for right now. But I'm sure I'll think of some more after I "publish post"

Christmas 2009

Hooray it's Chistmas!!! (hooray it's over!!!) This has to be the most unchristmassy I have ever felt. But regardless, I feel good that I pulled it off... again.
Katie and Izabel
Patrick, Jackie and their new baby Andrew
We are so lucky to have Santa show up on Christmas Eve again this year.
Kade loved seeing Santa, it was so cute watching him. He was telling Santa all sorts of good stuff.
Kyler, Sam, Parker and Jackson. It was fun having the kids draw names this year, they actually watched each other open their presents and really appreciated their gifts.Grandma holding Andrew
Jonas and his cute smile
After everyone went home we opened our Christmas jammies... so cozy.

And then... Christmas morning. Always so crazy and messy.

Jonas really wanted a lego set to build. None of my kids have ever been very interested in legos, so this was pretty new to us. He did a great job though, I just had to help him follow the directions and he built the whole thing by himself.

One of the hardest things about having a fourth child is buying toys. I think we have had pretty much every toy ever made... so here is the second run on the Geotrax.

Kyler got a bunch of football stuff. He LOVES it. He said his receiver gloves he got on Christmas Eve was the best Christmas Eve present he ever got. Thanks Kade!

Katie got her little laptop she has wanted forever. It's pretty sad when that little thing works way better than my computer. I find myself using hers when I want to look up something real quick. Mine takes way to long.

All in all Christmas was a stressful success. I'm so relieved it's over. I know that sounds pretty bah humbug, but what can I say, I had a hard time feelin' it this year.

Please, Please, Please don't let the groundhog see it's shadow this year.

Oh Winter!!!

Winter time again??? It came a little too fast for me this year. Here's Sam, all bundled up. And a picture with his new haircut.
Thanksgiving at Mindie and Aaron's house.

And our sweet new nephew/cousin...Andrew Joseph. He is such a cute little baby. I think I could just take this one home with me.
Decorating the Christmas tree.

Even Sammy helped. Well maybe not helped, but made it last longer because he thought it was funner to undecorate the tree.
